Main Services / NDT

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) refers to a type of inspection conducted on a material or component without compromising its integrity or its suitability for use. The reliability of such inspections is based on adherence to international standards and the precision of calibrated equipment.

NDT methods are used to detect discontinuities open to the surface of a material, as well as internal defects such as hidden voids, cracks, or a lack of penetration. Beyond defect detection, these methods are widely employed for measuring the thickness of coatings or paint on metal surfaces, assessing the condition of assembled components, mapping corrosion in pipelines, and inspecting structural steel. Techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Industrial Radiography (RT) involve directing high-frequency sound waves or X-rays/gamma rays into the area under examination to perform non-destructive testing.

As the name implies, non-destructive testing causes no damage to the material being tested. Consequently, the component undergoes no deformation or loss of functionality as a result of the process. The primary reason NDT methods are preferred in industrial applications is as follows:

It prevents expensive manufactured parts from being scrapped after testing, saves time, and reduces total costs compared to destructive testing methods.

At CTI Inspection, with our TÜRKAK accreditation and a team of expert Level 2 / Level 3 engineers, we identify and report surface and subsurface defects in materials in accordance with international standards.
